Ask anyone these days and they’ll
agree that good talent is hard to find. That’s what Krisna Creque brings, with
a mixed bag of creative choreography that embodies the definition of spice. She combines the perfect blend of her Latin roots
with precise timing and effortless flow, influencing many of today’s working dancers and choreographers.
Her dance story began at childhood, taking ballet and watching soul
train, ok West Side Story too, as she grew up, she sought out some of the world’s most renowned teachers in the industry.
As a result she studied with: Lorrie Ann Gibson (Knicks City Dancers), Mia Michaels (So You Think You Can Dance), Shane Sparks
(Millennium Dance Complex, CA), Leo Mateo, Paul Pellicoro (DanceSport, NY, NY) & Broadway Dance Center (NY, NY).Taking her on a wild ride that encompassed
Ballroom, Latin Ballroom (Rumba, Salsa, Cha-cha), Tango, Hip- hop (Break, Stomp, Krump) Ballet,
Tap, Jazz, Latin Jazz & Theater. She rounded out the dance with fitness by becoming a fitness trainer and training in
gymnastics (floor & uneven bar).
As the owner/ director of DanceFit International Studios, she began her own Hip
Hop Dance Company who holds the first place title for the 2008 Regional T.T.B. Junior Division. This team has performed for
Dance Conventions in New Jersey and New Hampshire.
Her performance/ choreography profile includes companies such as; IDA (Austin, TX), Tango (Manhattan, NY), Corazon
De Tango (Barcelona, Spain), CCE (Kingston, NY), Zoë Dance/ Theatre, Caliente (Kingston, NY), World Hustle Convention/Competition
(East Brunswick ,NJ). She performed & wrote motivational speeches and theatre pieces nationally, annually, for
Crown Enterprises Nashville, TN.
As an Artistic Director,
she has choreographed, directed and performed in eight dance showcases that encompassed the essence of all of her fused talents.
Krisna’s alluring stage presence has brought her print work for Manhattan fav’s Ali Naqui, Hearst & Redbook.
She has also conducted classes for: Hudson Opera House (Hudson, NY), 8th Annual World Hustle Competition/ Convention.
(East Brunswick, NJ), Coleman High School (Hurley, NY), Ulster County College (Stone Ridge, NY), Catskill Public Library
(Catskill, NY), Catskill Community Center (Catskill, NY), DN Dance (Manhattan, NY), Bally’s Total Fitness (Albany, NY).
Currently, she teaches dance annually to Greene County schools grades k- 12 through an 'Arts in Education'
grant in Greene County through the Greene County Arts Council and works with studios throughout New York and New Jersey. She
is continues to keep up with dance trends by taking classes, intensives and conventions. “I have to keep filling up
my sleeve if I want to pull out new tricks” Krisna also believes that “anyone can dance but a dancer
is made”.
